I currently create my pottery using various porcelain and stoneware clays and fire my work in an Anagama kiln in Cokato, Minnesota. My pottery is fired anywhere from 3-7 days and the kiln is continuously loaded with wood during this time. With each piece, I try to create individualized artworks that will be enhanced by the colors and surfaces created from days of fire and ash forming richly glazed surfaces. This approach to creating pottery is centuries old and my firing aesthetic is heavily influenced by the work produced from similar kilns in China and Japan.
